Showcase with metal objects
Throughout the active period of the history of the Lida Castle (XIV- XVII centuries), its territory had its own forge in which, in addition to swords and armor, tools necessary for construction were made, such as nails, door handles, staples, hooks, hinges, brackets for hanging a locks, loops, etc.
Charcoal served as fuel in the forge, and it was carried out forging before the iron was given the required shape.
It was collected many products of artisans and metalworkers during the excavations: nails, keys, locks, loops, hinges, brackets for hanging a locks.
These items were constantly improved, experimenting with the material for their manufacture. Up to the XIX century their manufacture was manual. It was only with the advent of the first machines for forging them that production was put on an industrial basis.
