State castles in the Western lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania

, lida-zamak.krokam.com

In order to create the Knights' own state in Prussia at the beginning of the XIII century the Teutonic Order, with the support of Western European knighthood, began fighting against the Prussian tribes and finally subjugated them by 1283.
Wars with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania began. To repel the Crusaders, defensive castles began to be built of stone and brick – the Lida, Koven, Medininkai, Krevo ones.
On the third tier, you can get information directly about the construction of the Castle itself. A number of authentic objects are presented here: brick with longitudinal grooves from the fingers, roofing tiles, fragments of “stone tile”, pot-type glazed tile and box-type tile, among them there is a complete fragment depicting an ornament characteristic of the construction period.
