There are two entrances in the eastern wall: the small one (2.5 m wide and 3 m high of semicircular shape), made at the level of the edge of the wall foundation, and the large one (more recent, 4.5 m wide and 6 m high), located near the north-eastern tower at a height of 2.5 m and also of semicircular shape.
The only way to get into the castle through the large entrance was by means of a drawbridge. The fact that the castle had two entrances located close to each other suggests an idea to us that their purpose was different.
The small gate was used constantly. The large ones were opened, apparently, for the solemn meetings of the Duke or his guests.
There is a restored brick dansker (danzker) (toilet facility) on the wall on figured stone corbels (during the construction of the Castle in the XV century the toilet was also on the south wall).
A part of the eastern wall remained from the small entrance to the southeastern corner (up to a maximum height of 8 m).
