Halberd is a shaft edged weapon up to 2.5 m long with a combined head consisting of a needle-shaped (round or faceted) spear head and a battle axe blade with a sharp butt. The halberd was in service with the infantry of a number of armed forces of European states from the XIII to the XVII century, having become most widespread in the XV—XVI centuries as an effective weapon against well-protected cavalry. In Belarus, the halberd was most widely used in the XV- XVIII centuries.
A crossbow or arblast is a combat throwing weapon, which is a bow equipped with mechanisms for cocking and releasing the bowstring.
A crossbow was usually superior to a regular bow in accuracy and killing power, but, with rare exceptions, it was much inferior to a bow in terms of rate and range of fire. In Belarus, the crossbow was known from the XII- XIII and to the end of the XVI century. as a combat weapon, and until the end of the XVIII century as a hunting on. In the XIV- XV centuries, the crossbow was the main weapon of the infantry.
A spear is a throwing, stabbing, or stabbing—cutting shaft edged weapon.
There are two types of spears: a throwing one and for infighting. An ordinary spear consists of a wooden shaft, the length of which could be from 1.5 to 4 m., and a metal head, the shape of which can be very diverse.
A bow is a throwing weapon designed to shoot arrows. One of the most ancient types of weapons. In the territory of medieval Belarus, as well as throughout Europe since the XV century it mainly used a reflex bow, the wooden base of which is about 140 cm long. The bow was considered one of the most popular and affordable types of weapons.
